A New Kind of Normal- a kitchen witch's tale

I am just like you.

I am raising a family while washing laundry, cooking meals and watching weeknight TV with my husband. I do yard work, housework and make grocery lists. I sterilize bottles, change diapers and read bedtime stories, all while wondering who my little pumpkin will grow up to be. I work outside the home but am also a wife and mommy. I have a normal and average life life, just like you. While my family and I may look the stereotypical suburban family, we have a small secret that must remain private since we live in the bible belt of the US. We are not of the christian faith... and to you this may not be that odd. But let me assure you, here in the south, that small detail makes us very different. But slowly in the US, families are coming in all sorts of different shapes and sizes, which is good for me because I am pagan; a witch. I am a new kind of normal.

While I wish I could wiggle my nose and change into designer clothes (complete with designer handbag and sunglasses) in an instant, my witchy life is nothing of the sort. My paganism is simply a spiritual faith, filled with energies, thoughts and prayers. I worship nature, the God and the Goddess, meditate while practicing yoga, and celebrate the turning of time through the changing of seasons. My spirituality guides me to be a good and kind hearted person to all living things, simply because I believe it is the right thing to do, not because there is a promise of  heaven or hell. I am blessed with a spirituality that kindles my heart and calms my spirit. I am blessed with a spirituality that walks with nature.

I am so pleased that you've stopped by to read my blog and I hope that you will return! I am not always able to post often, but I look forward to meeting many new friends through this blog tour.

Many Blessings to you
Trick or Treat
and Happy Halloween!
