the harvest home

To me, September and October are the most magickal times of year. Its hotter than hades where I live, but still you can sense the coming of a change. The sun rises at a different angle through my window in the morning, some leaves are starting to float around the street (its probably just from lack of water, but we can pretend!) and all the aisles at the local craft shop and drug stores are becoming adorned with fall and Halloween goodies.

I couldn't resist a moment longer and got out my harvest décor over labor day weekend. I'll save my Halloween things for actual October... or at the very earliest the last week of September. As a working parent, my life is hectic, as I'm sure yours is too. So coming home to a house that smells of pumpkin and is decorated in browns and oranges really lifts my spirits and calms my senses. It makes life more enjoyable and heartwarming...homey, in this busy busy world.

I look forward to this evening, lighting my pumpkin candles, turning on my fall garland, having a glass of wine, and spending time with my little family during this magickal, but busy, back to school season. I hope you have a great weekend and put up your fall décor soon, too! :)
