Merry Mabon!

Tomorrow is my favorite day of the entire year... the beginning of Fall. I am celebrating with a day off from work!! And I will bring it in with suprisingly cool weather here in Texas. A taste of Autumn?! Oh, yes please!!

Mabon is the second of the harvest festivals. Celts and English didn't originally celebrate this Sabbat, but the Norse introduced it to them... three harvest festivals, rather than two to represent the triple Godess. Mabon is named for the Welsh God, Mabon.  This sabbat is referred to as the "Witch's Thanksgiving", a time to reflect on the past year, be thankful for and enoy the harvest and prepare for the cold days of winter ahead.

At Mabon I  am thankful for my "harvest"... a job that pays my bills, a beautiful home, and wonderful relationships with my husband and family. I am also thankful for good ole' fashioned harvest traditions such as scarecrows, pumpkins, cooler weather and the turning color of leaves. :)

So bake a loaf of pumpkin bread..
have a harvest feast..
drink cidar..
celebrate your love for your family..
...be thankful and merry.

Merry Mabon!
Brightest Blessings...
Blessed be!
