What symbols have meaning to you and your beliefs?
Are you a pentacle person? Or do you associate more with the Anhk of Ancient Egyptians? Maybe you feel more connected with some Native American symbols...?
Feel free to use pictures and explain why these symbols have meaning for you.
I am a pentacle, goddess, cross and triple goddess symbol (some call it the trinity) person.
I have a triple goddess tattoo, which symbolizes the goddess as she changes from maiden to mother to crone, as the earth changes each year from season to season. I love the changing of seasons and nature. Thats one of the reasons I first started researching paganism. I like this symbol because to me it means one thing, but not everyone has to know its meaning, keeping me safe in the broom closet. I LOVE the fact that so many people have this symbol in their religions or faiths. I believe that it shows we are all intertwined and believe the same thing, whether you want to believe it or not. Even though I choose to follow a pagan lifestlye, I still believe we are all the same at heart.
I also like the pentacle symbol. I have several around my home, but put them away for safe keeping when friends are over. My family members and husband, who are accepting of my lifestyle, have no problem with them being out in the house.
The next symbol is the goddess symbol. I don't know much about her, but have several through out my home as well. I connect with her. I've heard she is the oldest symbol people can trace that was a symbol of worship. I spend many-a-day looking to her and praying.
My last symbol, because of my childhood faith, is the cross. Although I never really felt connected to my nondenominational church growing up, I said my prayers nightly and thanked God daily. I still pray to God daily, but now to the goddess as well. Most pagans and wiccans think this is strange, but its how I do things! It works for me and I think thats just great!
Happy Sunday!
