One Week to Halloween!!

One week from tomorrow and is the most magical night of the year!!
I am always anticipating it so much, I get discouraged that it will soon be over, before it is even gets here!! I am trying to just be excited for my halloween-filled-week leading up to this magical night and for the awesomeness of celebrating halloween for the very first time in our new home.

So, this is the week that I am hosting my three halloween parties! Today, I am going shopping for all of my goodies!

Tuesday of this week, I am hosting a halloween-happy-hour for my immediate coworker at my home! They know that I am the halloween queen, so my house is the place to be! After that, I'm headed to a local trunk-or-treat at my other part time job.

Saturday night the 29th, is my girlie halloween dinner. Although it is potluck, I am serving this ghostly italian dish...
Last year I used the cheapy roll out dough, but this year, I think I will use the premade store pizza crusts because the are much more sturdy and will hold their shape nicely. No, I do not make my own dough... I would not want to subject my guests to such a disaster. This idea came from Walmart's magazine All You. I love this magazine and get the most fun ideas and recipes from it! It is the only magazine I will sincerly read from cover to cover. I love it!

Monday, is Halloween of course. I am not sure what to serve as my main dish, but I have been planning some of the side dishes to go along with whatever meal I plan! I found a great recipe for baked pumpkin. (I think also from All You) I can't remember exactly how it goes, I'll have to go back and read, BUT! It pumpkin, skinned and chopped into cubes, drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled with seasonings and then baked. My understanding is that it turns out kind of like baked zucchinni! I have another great recipe for this, that I will share with you soon..

after lunch at my in-laws....
(my husband is standing over my shoulder telling me that we have to leave now)

I am finishing this post later! ;)
